Founded 1576, Kishigon is one of the five ryokans which are still doing its business since Muromachi era. The owner of today is the 20th descendant of the Founder who was a daimyo of Shinshu area, Matsumoto of today. The founder was moved down to Ikaho area during the Senkoku-jidai, and ruled the area with other 11 noble clans. Matching with 12 sexagenary cycle, each clan has accepted one of 12 sexagenary cycle and Kishigon accepted the Dragon. Guest will see the statue of dragon, that was constructed at that time, at entrance. Kishigon has still been loved by writers and famous persons. Guest can feel the touch of Japanese living history and culture. |
